As part of its commitment to achieving SDG 4 – Quality Education in Ghana, Goalpha Care launched the “Back to School Campaign” in January 2021 to support students returning to school amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many schools lacked essential sanitary supplies, preventing students from safely resuming classes. To tackle this, Goalpha Care partnered with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and Hon. Okoe Vanderpuije, then initiated the campaign in Ablekuma South Sub-Metropolitan Assembly, starting with a No-Fear Awareness Campaign.
The organization supplied schools with veronica buckets, face masks, soaps, sanitizers, tissue paper, and more. The project grew with the support of partners, reaching over 100 schools in all five districts of the Greater Accra Region and impacting about 90,000 students.
